Setting the vision for your Christian womens conference
The first step in planning a Christian womens conference is to set a clear and inspiring vision. I know. I know. I am big on vision and missions for women’s ministries. Read my thoughts here. Ask yourself, What is the primary purpose of your event? Are you aiming to empower women in their Christian walks? How? Or maybe you’re helping them in their careers, promoting gender equality in the church, or celebrating women’s achievements? Defining your vision will provide a guiding lighthouse that shapes all other aspects of your Christian womens conference.
NOTE: I’m intentionally leaving apostrophes off from the word “women’s.”

Work with your team to identify the core values and beliefs underpinning the womens conference. Consider the Christian faith’s foundational principles you want to emphasize. This may include faith, love, empowerment, community, and service themes.
Scripture and Biblical Inspiration
Select relevant scriptures or biblical passages that resonate with the conference’s vision and purpose. These verses can provide a solid foundation for your vision and guide attendees toward spiritual growth and renewal. Do this before you decide on a purpose because the scripture will be the foundation for everything else, especially why you’re doing the event.
Here are a few Bible scriptures that can help you think through the scripture that will guide the vision for your Christian womens conference.
- Proverbs 31:25: “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” – This verse celebrates the strength and resilience of women, emphasizing their dignity and fearlessness in the face of challenges.
- Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – This verse encourages women to find their strength in their faith and trust in God’s empowerment.
- Proverbs 31:30: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” – This scripture underscores the value of inner character and a woman’s relationship with God over external appearances.
- Psalm 46:5: “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” – A reminder of the divine support and strength that God provides to women.
- 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” – Encourages women to overcome fear and embrace the power of love and a sound mind through their faith.
- Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” – This verse highlights the equality and unity of all believers in Christ, irrespective of gender.
- Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” is a message of hope, renewal, and endurance through faith, don’t you think?
- 1 Peter 3:3-4: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” – Emphasizes the significance of inner beauty and character.
- Colossians 3:12-14: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” – Encourages women to embody virtues such as compassion, kindness, humility, and love in their interactions with others.
- Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – A call to resist conformity to worldly standards and instead seek transformation through faith.
Here are some other verses you can use as well. You can also turn to your topical Bible concordance to find the right scripture. Look for the themes you want to base your womens conference on.

Define the Purpose of the Christian Womans Conference
The purpose and vision of your womens conference are interconnected. Is it to deepen attendees’ faith, provide a space for worship and fellowship, or empower women to be bold in their Christian journey? If you’re able to do so, try to ensure the Christian womens conference vision parallels your church’s mission statement or annual theme. Not all pastors have themes at the beginning of the year. But I love that my husband does for our church. It sets the tone for the entire year.
You can create a really cool and harmonious synergy between the theme and the conference’s purpose – this will resonate deeply with attendees and enhance their overall experience.
After you have narrowed the vision for the Christian women’s conference, think about the core values and aspirations of the conference.
One potential purpose of a Christian womens conference is to provide a space for like-minded individuals to gather and deepen their faith. In today’s fast-paced world, carving out moments of reflection and spiritual growth is crucial.
Purpose ideas for Christian Womens Conference
This focus on faith can serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement, nurturing attendees’ spiritual well-being and helping them cultivate a closer relationship with God.
Another purpose could be to foster an environment of worship and fellowship. In a women’s conference focused on worship, the emphasis lies on creating an atmosphere where attendees can come together in joyous celebration of their shared beliefs.
This can involve incorporating dynamic worship sessions led by talented musicians and worshippers and providing opportunities for attendees to connect with one another on a deeper level.
Through small group activities, networking sessions, and communal meals, women can form lasting friendships and build a strong sense of community within the conference.
Lastly, a women’s conference could aim to empower women to be bold in their Christian journey. By organizing workshops, seminars, and keynote speeches that address relevant topics, attendees can gain valuable insights and practical tools to navigate the challenges they face in their personal and professional lives.
Remember this about the purpose
of your Christian womens ministry conference…
This purpose encourages women to step out of their comfort zones, embrace their unique gifts and talents, and become confident leaders who positively impact their communities.
Empowerment-focused conferences often include sessions on leadership development, personal growth, self-care, and navigating the intersection of faith and various aspects of life.
Ultimately, the purpose of a women’s conference should be one that resonates with the target audience and aligns with the overarching mission of your church or organization.
By carefully defining its purpose, you can create a transformative and impactful event that leaves a lasting impression on attendees and supports them in their spiritual growth and personal development.
The Target Audience for the Christian Womens Conference
Consider the Christian women you aim to reach with your women’s conference.
Are you targeting women of a specific age group, life stage, or spiritual background? Oh boy! Do you see how specific you can get?
You could have a women’s conference for empty nesters? Or widows. Or young mothers. The possibilities are endless! Understanding your target audience will help you tailor the vision to their needs and aspirations.
Here are some casual ideas to help you get started:
- Create Customer Personas: Think of your ideal customers as characters in a story. Give them names, ages, and backgrounds. This helps you visualize who you’re trying to reach. Creating personas f involves crafting detailed and semi-fictional representations of your ideal attendees. These personas are more than just demographic data; they encapsulate your target audience’s motivations, behaviors, and pain points.
By delving into these women’s needs and aspirations, you gain invaluable insights that enable you to tailor your women’s conference. Personas (or avatars, as I call them) help you understand who the ladies are, where they hang out, what problems they’re trying to solve, and what influences their decision-making.
Armed with this knowledge, you can design workshops, keynote speaker themes, conference programs, and more that resonate with the women on a personal level, forging deeper connections and adding value. In essence, creating personas is about humanizing your Christian women’s conference, allowing you to reach out in a way that genuinely addresses the needs and desires of the women you want to attend the conference. - Understand Their Pain Points: What problems or challenges do your potential attendees face? For example, if your target is Christian women under 30 – what might trouble them? Identifying these pain points is crucial for offering solutions that resonate with them.
- Psychographics: Go beyond demographics and consider your lifestyle, values, interests, and behaviors. What do they like to do in their free time? What are their beliefs and values? How can you incorporate that into the women’s conference activities?
- Feedback and Reviews: Listen to what your current event attendees are saying. Their feedback can reveal a lot about your target audience…because they are likely your target audience. 🙂 If you have old evaluations from past workshops or events, go check them out to see what they can tell you about what the women want.
- Feedback Loop: Maintain a feedback loop with your audience. Encourage them to share their thoughts and ideas, and use this information to refine your offerings. Use Polls Everywhere or Mentimeter to get anonymous feedback.
Theme and Message
Choose a theme that encapsulates the vision of the conference. This theme should be both spiritually uplifting and relatable to your target audience (see above). You want the message should inspire and guide attendees throughout the event.
When choosing a theme for a women’s ministry conference, selecting something that will resonate with the audience is important. Don’t forget to get opinions.
A great theme could be “Radiating God’s Grace: Women Empowering Women.”
This theme focuses on women supporting and uplifting each other, embracing their strengths, and finding empowerment through faith. The conference could strive to create a nurturing and encouraging environment where women can come together, celebrate their unique qualities, and draw inspiration from one another. It’s all about fostering a strong and supportive community of empowered women.
Your graphics could include elements of lighting and radiation (not the toxic kind…haha). Here is an example:
Comment below that you like it, and you can use it, if you’d like. 🙂

That’s it for now!
As you embark on the journey of planning a Christian women’s conference, remember that a well-defined vision and a clear understanding of your target audience are the cornerstones of a spiritually enriching and impactful Christian women’s conference.
Your vision becomes the guiding light, while your knowledge of the women you aim to serve ensures that every element of your conference speaks directly to their hearts and souls. It prevents a disjointed effort that misses the mark. How? Because these two elements are the epitome of the “mark” you are trying to hit.
By weaving faith, purpose, and community into every aspect of your planning, you’ll create a space where women can be empowered by the Holy Spirit, inspired in the Word of God, and spiritually renewed.
Your conference will be a testament to the power of faith, sisterhood, and the transformative impact of coming together in the name of Christ. God bless you, and stay tuned for my next post on creating your budget and funding your vision.
