Valentine Day questions (or Valentine’s Day) can be a blast for church women’s ministry groups, giving everyone a cool chance to celebrate love and friendship in the community. Women’s groups can plan fun get-togethers, or “Galentine’s Day,” that build camaraderie and spiritual growth, like potluck dinners where everyone brings their favorite love-themed dish.
Do you know where Valentine’s Day (or Valentine Day) came from?
I did a little research, and Valentine’s Day started in ancient Rome, likely from the mid-February festival Lupercalia, which celebrated fertility and love.
It became linked to Saint Valentine, a martyr who secretly married soldiers not allowed to wed.
Over time, February 14 turned into a day to celebrate love, becoming popular in medieval Europe with romantic poetry and letters. By the 19th century, giving Valentineโs Day cards became common, forming the modern celebration of love we know today.

Plus, you can “love” outward.
Your women’s group can do activities like making sweet Valentine’s cards to share with local nursing homes or shelters, which can spread joy and make a real difference outside the church.
Another ideaโin addition to the Valentine’s Day questionsโis to share personal stories about love, faith, and friendship.
You can use this time to have the women’s ministry connect more deeply and chat about what love means in their lives.
I’ll bet you all can spark some really meaningful discussions.
Since God is love, you definitely need to throw in some worship elements!
Playing Christian love-themed hymns, reading scripture about love, or having worship leaders minister can amp up the vibe and make it a day all about romantic love and the incredible love we share with Jesus.
