Super Fun Women’s Ministry Valentine’s Day Questions

Valentine Day questions (or Valentine’s Day) can be a blast for church women’s ministry groups, giving everyone a cool chance to celebrate love and friendship in the community. Women’s groups can plan fun get-togethers, or “Galentine’s Day,” that build camaraderie and spiritual growth, like potluck dinners where everyone brings their favorite love-themed dish.

Do you know where Valentine’s Day (or Valentine Day) came from?

I did a little research, and Valentine’s Day started in ancient Rome, likely from the mid-February festival Lupercalia, which celebrated fertility and love.

It became linked to Saint Valentine, a martyr who secretly married soldiers not allowed to wed.

Over time, February 14 turned into a day to celebrate love, becoming popular in medieval Europe with romantic poetry and letters. By the 19th century, giving Valentineโ€™s Day cards became common, forming the modern celebration of love we know today.

Plus, you can “love” outward.

Your women’s group can do activities like making sweet Valentine’s cards to share with local nursing homes or shelters, which can spread joy and make a real difference outside the church.

Another ideaโ€”in addition to the Valentine’s Day questionsโ€”is to share personal stories about love, faith, and friendship.

You can use this time to have the women’s ministry connect more deeply and chat about what love means in their lives.

I’ll bet you all can spark some really meaningful discussions.

Since God is love, you definitely need to throw in some worship elements!

Playing Christian love-themed hymns, reading scripture about love, or having worship leaders minister can amp up the vibe and make it a day all about romantic love and the incredible love we share with Jesus.

Valentine Day Questions 2

Here are four Valentine’s Day question games that are fun for groups or women’s ministry gatherings:

Take turns asking fun โ€œWould You Ratherโ€ questions related to love and relationships. Example questions:

  • Would you rather receive a handwritten love letter or a heartfelt video message?
  • Would you rather go on a fancy dinner date or have a cozy night at home with homemade food?

Prepare a mix of Bible-based and general love-related trivia questions. Examples:

  • In 1 Corinthians 13, what is the first quality of love listed? (Answer: Love is patient.)
  • What popular Valentineโ€™s Day candy comes in heart shapes with messages? (Answer: Conversation hearts.)

Pair up participants and have them answer questions about each other. Examples:

  • What is my favorite way to show love?
  • What Bible verse about love is my favorite?

Write out love-related Bible verses and cut them in half. Participants must find their โ€œmatchโ€ by locating the person who has the second part of their verse. Example verse:

  • โ€œWe love because He first loved us.โ€ โ€“ 1 John 4:19
Once matched, they can discuss what the verse means to them.

I think these are good Valentineโ€™s Day icebreaker questions for women who donโ€™t know each other well. These will help spark meaningful conversations while keeping things light and fun!
